About

The person behind
the numbers.

I've spent my career close to two things: technology that's genuinely hard, and the people responsible for selling it. What I enjoy most isn't the quarter — it's the moment a team stops guessing, starts operating from a system, and realizes what it's capable of.

A technology enthusiast

Still reads the architecture diagram first.

A builder

Happiest when something needs to exist that doesn't yet.

A mentor

The careers he helped build are the metric he's proudest of.

A student of business

Curious about how companies actually make money.

A storyteller

Complex technology only travels when it's told simply.

A strategist

Thinks in systems, sequences and second-order effects.

A hands-on operator

Comfortable in the deal, the forecast and the room.

Jason Alves on the coast

Away from work, I'm usually near the water. It's where the thinking gets clearer and the noise gets smaller.

I read constantly, mostly about how businesses are built and why they stall. I mentor sellers and leaders because someone did it for me. And I still get genuinely excited about a new architecture, a new category, or a market that hasn't figured out its motion yet.
